Mass Effect Legendary Edition updates the classic Bioware set of games with higher resolution textures and higher frame rates. It’s one of the best releases of 2021 and it’s currently on sale for more than half its retail price.
From our review: “Mass Effect is one of the most influential game series of our time. The original trilogy holds a truly mythic status amongst its fans. To honor this legacy, BioWare has lovingly updated those three games and packed them into the Mass Effect Legendary Edition. Featuring not only key upgrades to the first Mass Effect but also huge swaths of texture updates and much more, this collection is what many BioWare fans have wanted for years.
“This collection allows fans old and new to experience (or relive) the story of Commander Shepard, forging relationships with supporting characters and seeing different solar systems in the Milky Way galaxy. You forge your own path, make several important narrative decisions and ultimately save the galaxy from the terrifying biomechanical Reapers.”
If you’ve never played these games or want to experience them all over again, this is one deal you shouldn’t pass up.

Virtual Reality gaming has come a long way since the best-forgotten days of the Virtua Boy. Thanks to companies like Facebook, Valve, and Sony giving earnest tries at VR gaming, the technology has found a solid foothold in the gaming industry. It’s safe to say that VR gaming is no mere fad. As such, now is a great time to purchase one of the very best headsets out there: The Oculus Quest 2.
From our review: “The Oculus Quest 2 might be the virtual reality headset you’re after if you wish to find a way out of the rigors of real life. It provides the ability to pop on a virtual reality headset and go explore Mount Everest, ride a rollercoaster, or take on Sith lord Darth Vader at his fortress on the molten planet of Mustafar, all while avoiding going anywhere mid-coronavirus pandemic. And as it’s a standalone headset, it makes VR an easily accessible route into escapism.”
This deal comes with the Oculus Quest 2 device and a free carrying case, making this a $49 dollar value. That’s not too shabby for such a great VR headset.
Oculus Quest 2 VR Headset 128 GB + FREE Carrying Case ($49 value): currently $299
The Chromecast with Google TV was already an affordable streaming stick but it’s even cheaper now during the post-Black Friday/pre-Cyber Monday weekend.

“The Chromecast with Google TV even won the 2021 Tom’s Guide Award for Best Streaming Device, which it earned by upgrading the Chromecast with apps, a remote and a lot of audio and video standards.”

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl is a success despite being a rather deliberate Super Smash Bros clone. If you’re looking for another Nintendo-inspired title from the company, Nickelodeon Kart Racers on the Nintendo Switch will no doubt be up your alley.
This racing game features beloved Nickelodeon characters from franchises like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Rugrats, SpongeBob SquarePants and many more. You can race against others in up to 4-player local multiplayer. Battle mode also features a variety of challenges. Admittedly, this is more of a children’s game but adults can have fun as well.
Nickelodeon Kart Racers: was $27.98 now $17.93
Black Friday, if nothing else, is the time of the year when many think “okay, now I’ve worked hard all year and deserve a big new TV at a much lower price than normal.” For them, we’ve highlighted some big discounts on TCL deals, and few are larger than this one: $400 off a 65-inch Roku 4K TV!
We’ve highlighted smaller and more affordable TCL TVs earlier in this live blog, and want to point this one out for good reason. A whopping 160 local contrast control zones, mini-LED and QLED technology all combine for optimized white and black tones, improved brightness and color. And then you’ve got the HDR support for Dolby Vision and HDR 10, plus four HDMI inputs.
TCL 65″ Class 6-Series 4K Mini-LED QLED Roku Smart TV: was 1,299 now $898
We’ve called out a deal on the regular version of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, which just came out, but this sale is both larger and more interesting for collectors. Normally, you’d pay way too much for a Deluxe Edition of a game, but now that it’s down to $29 at Walmart, you can save and get a ton of extras.
This Walmart exclusive gives you two early unlocks for Star-Lord’s outfits (Sun-Lord and City-Lord), a SteelBook case, a 48-page artbook and a code to digitally download music from the game. All that for half the price of the regular edition’s MSRP. The game finds you in the role of Star-Lord, as the maestro of the fellow Guardians Drax, Gamora, Rocket and Groot, on another wild adventure.
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Deluxe Edition: was $79 now $29
My colleague Kate Kozuch passed this deal to me, and it’s the kind of thing I could really use right now during the chaos of the holidays. One of the most popular features now with robot vacuums is self emptying, and that’s exactly what the iHome AutoVac does when it finishes cleaning.
This particular robot vac also doubles as a a mop, so you get two kinds of cleaners in one.The iHome AutoVac Nova connects to both Alexa or Google Assistant, so you can control the device via your voice. And with HomeMap 2.0 LiDAR, the Nova leverages its sensors for mapping and object avoidance.
iHome AutoVac Nova: was $599 now $249

With Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals in full swing, Walmart is rolling out epic savings on some of our favorite smart home devices. Right now, one of best smart thermostats around — the Nest Thermostat — is discounted to one of the lowest prices we’ve ever seen.
In our review, we liked the device’s large display, intuitive interface, and the fact that it works with multiple smart home systems. It works with both Alexa and Google Assistant, among other popular platforms. You can adjust the temperature using voice commands like, “Alexa, tell Thermostat to set the temperature to 65 degrees.”
If you’ve never owned a smart thermostat, the Nest Thermostat is a perfect entry point. So what are you waiting for? This deal is too hot to pass up. (Or too cool, this thermostat can handle both.)

Ready for another ongoing Walmart Black Friday deal? Through Cyber Monday the Asus Vivobook Pro 14 is $100 off, making it more affordable to upgrade your own laptop or get a gift ready for the holidays.
With its beautiful 14-inch 2880 x 1800 (2.8K) OLED display, thin bezels and svelte profile, the VivoBook 14 Pro looks like a $1,000 laptop. There are a lot of excellent alternatives to AirPods worth your consideration, Beats Studio Buds definitely land on that list. Better still alternatives to Apple’s wireless earbuds can regularly be secured at a fraction of the price.
Case in point, the excellent Beats Studio Pros are just $99 at Walmart. These wireless buds offer active noise canceling, two distinct listening modes, and 8 hours of listening time with two additional charges provided by the pocket-sized charging case.

Black Friday deals are always dominated by TV sales, and while we’ve seen plenty of fantastic discounts on budget sets if you’re willing to stretch to a more premium television then there’s a treasure trove of offers still running that you won’t want to miss.
Right now this Samsung 75-inch QLED 4K Smart TV is $1,097 at Walmart, down from $1,497. This TV combines Quantum Dot Technology with 100% Color Volume and sports a 60Hz refresh rate. Expect seriously vivid images no matter what you’re watching.

Over the last 18 months, we’ve all become a little more conscious of the quality of air we’re breathing, so it’s no surprise that air purifier deals have been seriously popular over Black Friday 2021. Right now, the Dyson TP01 Purifier Tower Fan is $299 at Walmart. This machine claims to remove up to 99.97% of allergens and pollutants and uses a layer of activated carbon granules to erase odors and harmful toxins.
Dyson TP01 Purifier Tower Fan: was $399 now $299
Getting into PC gaming often comes with an expensive barrier to entry, that’s why Black Friday gaming laptop deals are some of our favorite offers of the whole holiday season. This year has seen particularly strong discounts on entry-level machines, and we’ve got another cracker of a deal here.
Right now you can get a Lenovo Legion 5 17.3” with Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 for $699 at Walmart. That’s a very sizeable drop of more than $200 from its original retail price of $909. This rig sports a 17.3-inch IPS display, AMD Ryzen 5 5600H processor, 8GB of RAM, 256GB SSD and Windows 11 pre-installed.
This might not be the biggest powerhouse machine available, but if you’re looking to take your first steps into the world of PC gaming for a (relatively) low cost then this deal is worth considering.

Staff writer Richard Priday here with some more deals recommendations!
Getting a good quality phone for cheap can be difficult, but Walmart’s 66% off offer on the OnePlus Nord N200 makes it exceptionally easy.
This 5G-ready phone, which comes locked to Metro by T-Mobile, features some premium parts like a 90Hz display, a large fast-charging battery and three rear cameras. Getting these elements for cheaper than 99 bucks feels impossible.
OnePlus Nord N200: was $299 now $99 @ Walmart
Nothing brings the family together during the holiday season like a good board game, but let’s face it the old staples are getting a bit stale. There are only so many times you can play Monopoly or Clue before you fancy something new. That’s where this Walmart Black Friday deal comes in.
Right now you can get Throw Throw Burrito for $12 at Walmart, that’s 50% off its regular retail price of $25. If you’re unaware of this zany game it’s sort of like a cross between a card game and dodgeball. The aim is to collect a matching set of cards while avoiding squishy airborne burritos.
It’s as utterly ridiculous as it sounds but it’s also great fun and comes from the team who created the wonderfully original Exploding Kittens game. You’ve definitely never played a card game quite like this.
Throw Throw Burrito: was $24 now $12
If you’ve overindulged this Thanksgiving and the waistband on your favorite jeans is becoming a little too tight for comfort, don’t wait until the New Year to start working on your fitness goals. Get a helping hand with your workouts with the Fitbit Sense for $199 at Walmart.
One of the things we love most about the Fitbit Sense is that it’s designed to do more than just get you in better shape, it’s about getting healthy. The Fitbit Sense is a pretty ambitious device offering not only the expected features like GPS tracking and heart rate monitoring but it also measures your blood oxygen levels, has an ECG monitor, and can detect your skin temperature (what you do with that information is up to you).
If all that wasn’t enough it also boasts sleep tracking, NFC for contactless payments, Alex/Google Assistant support and you can store music on the watch. Plus, we’ve not even mentioned the battery life of nearly a week or the super bright display.
Fitbit Sense: was $299 now $199
Call of Duty Vanguard brings together the series signature fast-paced multiplayer with an explosive campaign and the always enjoyable Zombies co-op mode. It’s the complete shooter package, and the PS4 version is just $39 at Walmart.
While Call of Duty definitely has its fair share of detractors, Vanguard is a very solid, if rather unadventurous, entry in the long-running franchise. In our review of the game, we said: “Call of Duty: Vanguard doesn’t drive the franchise forward in any major ways, but its tense, cinematic campaign and satisfying multiplayer modes are worth experiencing.”
Several weeks from its release and we stand by that opinion. We’ve been especially impressed at the rapid clip developer Sledgehammer Games has added new content to the game with a couple of fresh maps already in the mix.
Call of Duty Vanguard (PS4): was $59 now $39
This plastic blaster brings together two things that are wildly popular with kids: Fortnite and Nerf. Right now, you can pick up the Nerf Fortnite GL Blaster for $39 at Walmart, that’s $15 off its usual price of $54.
This colorful replica weapon comes with six Nerf darts (although you may want to buy some spares as the little foam pellets are notorious for going missing) and is a single-shot Nerf blaster. This deal is perfect for kids both big and small.
We’re very tempted to buy a few ourselves to stage Fortnite-style battles in the Tom’s Guide office!
Nerf Fortnite GL Blaster: was $54 now $39
With the NBA celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, now is the perfect time to start practicing those three-pointers in the hopes of achieving basketball stardom. What better way to sharpen your skills than with this 54-inch Spalding Portable Basketball Hoop for $185 at Walmart.
Okay, so it’s probably not going to turn you into the next LeBron James but if you’ve got a budding baller in your life this hoop is a (relatively) low-cost way to encourage them to keep practicing. They may never quite reach the NBA but they’ll have fun all the same.
This deal has just got even better as well, previously Walmart was offering the hoop for $200, but it’s now dropped even lower to $185. That’s a sizeable $115 saving.
Spalding 54” Portable Basketball Hoop: was $299 now $185
When the iPhone 13 lineup came out, Apple kept the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini around, dropping the starting prices of those year-old phones by $100 each. But there’s a way to get an iPhone 12 mini for even less, and it means buying the phone through Walmart.
For Black Friday, you can buy an iPhone 12 mini for $299, which is $200 less than what Walmart normally charges. That’s a very low price for a phone whose processor can still outperform many top Android phones and that earned raves for its picture-taking prowess.
The catch is the $299 iPhone 12 mini is locked to Total Wireless, which provides the cellular service for the phone. That’ll be a deal-breaker for some, though others will shrug and consider it a small price to pay for a small price overall.
iPhone 12 mini: was $499 now $299
Philip Michals here, and I’m back for a few more hours of finding top deals at Walmart. And as much as I love cooking, I’ve yet to be swept up by the desire to get an Instant Pot for both pressure cooking and air frying. But with the prices Walmart’s floating around, I may be tempted to try.
The Instant Pot Duo Crisp is an 8-quart, 9-in-1 cooker that normally costs $199. Walmart has dropped the price to $99, a $100 discount. That’s the kind of savings that could convince me it’s time to leave my trusty slow cooker behind.
Instant Pot Duo Crisp: was $199 now $99
Where TV deals are, discounts on soundbars soon follow. And since some of the best Black Friday TV deals can be found at Walmart, it stands to reason you’ll see some good bargains on soundbars that augment the audio on your new TV.
Take the Samsung HW-T415/ZA 2.1 Soundbar with wireless subwoofer. Normally $149, Walmart is selling Samsung’s soundbar for $99 — a $50 discount. You’ll appreciate the deep bass enabled by that soundbar as well as the immersive surround sound experience Samsung’s device offers.
Samsung HW-T415/ZA 2.1 Soundbar: waS $149 now $99
The biggest version of LG’s best OLED 4K TV is also getting its biggest discount at Walmart. The 83-inch LG C1 OLED is an absolute monster, but it’s one with beauty and brains, thanks to that gorgeous OLED panel and a collection of category-leading smart features. From dual Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa voice control built in to intelligent content recommendations and HDMI 2.1 connectivity, it’s one of the smartest TVs we’ve seen. The current sale saves you $1,000, but those prices won’t last long!
LG 83″ C1 OLED TV: was $5,999 now $4,996
Portable storage is an awesome thing, letting you pack 64GB of data on your keychain. But in today’s world of smart devices, plain old USB doesn’t quite cut it. What do you do when you need to grab files from your phone? Well, thanks to a built-in Lightning connector, you can plug right in to an iPhone or iPad, and then take your files straight to a laptop or smart TV with USB 3.0! Whether you’re buying it as a handy stocking stuffer or just picking up a useful item for yourself, it’s a serious bargain right now.
SanDisk iXpand 64GB Flash Drive: was $72 now $30

On the surface, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 at Walmart doesn’t seem like that much of a deal. Walmart is selling an AT&T-tied version of the phone for $27.75 in monthly payments. Over 36 months, that adds up to $999 — what you’d pay for a Galaxy Z Flip 3 without any discount.
So why get the phone from Walmart? Because there’s a bonus when you purchase the phone through the retailer — Walmart will give you a $500 gift card when you purchase the phone. In addition, you can save up to $1,000 by trading in your current device, though only newer phones in excellent shape will see that big of a refund. Still, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 is one of the stylish-looking foldable hones, and this is a way to get it for less.
Galaxy Z Flip 3: $999 w/ $500 gift card
Vacuums! Every home should have one, and if you need a new one Walmart has a good deal on a Dyson V10 Allergy cordless vacuum that knocks $100 off the usual $479 asking price.

It transforms from a full stick vacuum to a handheld vac with a minimum of fuss and comes with multiple attachments, including tools for vacuuming crevices, mattresses, and more. There are a few gems in Walmart’s Black Friday video game sale, and one of them happens to be Watch Dogs Legion. The Xbox version is currently discounted down to $14, which is a great price for this interesting open-world game from 2020.
The core premise of Watch Dogs Legion is simple: recruit and play as (just about) anyone in London as you build your upstart hacker collective and try to take down an oppressive surveillance state. That means you spend a lot of time exploring the game’s detailed open world while using hacking, sneaking, and combat skills to overcome challenges.
It was one of the unsung gems of last year, and now it can be yours for a bargain bin price. Note that this version should work on either the new Xbox Series X and S consoles or the older Xbox One consoles.
Watch Dogs Legion for Xbox: was $59 now $14
If you’ve got some travel planned in the near future, you might consider picking up a pair of Bose QuietComfort noise-cancelling Bluetooth earbuds. In our review we praised these earbuds for stellar audio quality and great active noise cancellation, though we were a bit disappointed by the 5-6 hours of use you get before needing to recharge.
Luckily, they come with a charging case that can store up to an additional 18 hours’ worth of use, and the quick-charge feature can get you up to 2 hours of listening time after 15 minutes of charging. Walmart has these Bose buds on Black Friday sale now for $80 off, and you can get them in your choice of black or soapstone.
Bose QuietComfort Earbuds: were $279, now $199
The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening came out for Nintendo’s Game Boy in 1993. It was the first Zelda game I ever played, and 10-year-old me thought it was great. Fast forward to 2019 and Nintendo released a gorgeous 3D remake for the Nintendo Switch that’s vibrant, authentic, and nearly half off today at Walmart.
If you’re looking for a great gift for the Nintendo Switch owner in your life, this is a good opportunity to get one of the console’s best games at a great price. In our review we gave this Link’s Awakening remake high marks for recapturing all the magic of the original with a beautiful new aesthetic, so if you never played the original this is a great opportunity to see what all the fuss was about.

Right now Walmart is knocking $150 off the price of one of these 16-inch gaming laptops packing an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 laptop GPU, which is more than enough power to run the latest games at great framerates.

In our review we celebrated this bulky laptop for its excellent gaming performance, beautiful display and solid build quality. While $150 isn’t a huge discount off the usual $1,999 asking price, demand for gaming PCs is so high right now that even a modest discount is a great opportunity if you want a new gaming laptop.
Lenovo Legion 5 Pro 16″ with Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070: was $1,999 now $1,749

Pushing up against the limits of a home Wi-Fi network is a great recipe for frustration, especially over the holidays when you’re most likely to find yourself visiting friends and family with weak, spotty Wi-Fi.
I’ve definitely come home to find my parents frustrated and flummoxed by the poor range of their Wi-Fi network, which is why I’ve been spending Black Friday looking for great deals on Wi-Fi extenders. Walmart has a solid discount on Netgear’s EX6110 W-Fi Wall Plug Range Extender and Signal Booster that has me seriously tempted, as it knocks nearly $20 off the price of this $87 extender, which claims to work with any router and deliver dual-band Wi-Fi with speeds of up to 1,200 Mbps. If you, like me, need a quick solution to poor Wi-Fi coverage this holiday season, check out this deal.
