The Miele Dynamic U1 is exceptionally easy to maintain, with a design that makes it very easy to access its parts.
Dirt compartment: Installing a new dirtbag is a very simple process since all you need to do is open the dirtbag compartment and align the indicator arrows with the socket. It needs to be replaced when it’s filled with debris.
Pre-motor filter: The pre-motor filter is disposable and located in the dirtbag compartment, just behind a plastic cover. It needs to be replaced after going through four dirtbags.
Post-motor filter: The post-motor filter is accessible behind a cover on top of the vacuum head. It should be replaced after 50 hours of use, but you can see if it needs to be changed prematurely by looking at its indicator strip, which turns red at the end of its service life.
Unfortunately, the vacuum head’s hard brushroll isn’t removable under normal circumstances, as the user manual doesn’t provide any instructions for in-depth maintenance of this sort. If you do need to remove the brushroll, you can access it by flipping the vacuum over and unscrewing the bottom plate. Otherwise, you can remove stuck debris and hair wraps by hand.
