Week number 10 brought a whole lot of phone announcements from Realme, Oppo, Xiaomi’s Black Shark and Motorola and it also gave us the announcement dates for the upcoming OnePlus 8 and Redmi Note 9 series.
Let’s begin with the latter. The Redmi Note 9 series are going to debut on March 12 and so far we know that they’ll have a new quad camera, 6GB of RAM, an “immersive gaming experience” and “unmatched fast charging”.
On the other hand the OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro and the OnePlus 8 Lite are said to become official on April 14, although the company is yet to release an official invitation.
Now onto the phones we did get – the Realme 6 and Realme 6 Pro became official – the Pro has a dual selfie camera, a 2x telephoto camera, Qualcomm 720G chipset and a 0.1-inch bigger screen than the non-Pro.
Oppo had a trio of announcements this week. First came the Reno3 Pro with a MediaTek Helio P95 chipset, 64MP main camera and 30W fast charging.
Then we saw the Find X2 Pro – the proper Oppo flagship. It has a 120Hz Quad HD OLED screen, a Snapdragon 865 chipset, 65W Super VOOC 2.0 Flash Charge and a premier camera array – a 48MP huge sensor main camera, 48MP ultrawide snapper and a 13MP 5x periscope zoom unit.
The Oppo Find X2 Pro is priced 1,199, the vanilla Find X2 with no water-resistance and a non-periscope zoom camera is 999. They are already available on pre-order in the Netherlands with shipments in a bunch of countries scheduled to start on March 13.
Xiaomi’s gaming sub-brand Black Shark brought out its 3 and 3 Pro models, while Motorola delivered its Moto G8 mid-ranger.
Those were the highlights of the week. You can see all the important stories below. See you in a week!
The next-gen Redmi Note series will come with a new four-camera setup, premium design and overhauled performance.
Both phones come with Snapdragon 865, 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 Flash Charge and boot the latest Color OS 7.1.
The G7 had a 1080p screen, however the G8 brings ultra wide and macro cameras, plus a faster chipset.
We compared the latest Galaxy’s footage to the one you can get out of a Note10+, and let’s say it’s not really a contest.
