Unphased by the global lockdown the smartphone makers keep bringing new hardware and week 17 was particularly busy seeing 13 new devices join our database – 12 phones and a tablet. To make sure you haven’t missed any of them here’s a quick summary.
Oppo was one of the two most active makers, unveiling 4 new phones – in ascending price order those are the A12, A52 and A72 as well as the Find X2 Lite.
nubia followed with the announcement of the nubia Play – one of the cheapest 5G phones around and it comes with a 144Hz display too.
Arguably the most exciting event of the week gave us the Motorola Edge and Edge+, the latter marking the return of the once dominant maker to the flagship space.
Realme followed with the X50m – an agressively priced 5G phone that sadly seems destined to remain exclusive to China.
vivo’s sub-brand iQOO then took the stage and gave us the Neo3, which brings a Snapdragon 865 and a 144Hz display at the hard to believe $380 price tag.
Finally it was Huawei’s turn and the Chinese giant matched Oppo’s tally in a single event. The nova 7 series got three additions – a vanilla 7, 7 Pro and 7 SE. Alongside them we welcomed the affordable Matepad tablet.
