Honor announced MagicOS 8.0 at a dedicated event in China at the beginning of the year. The user interface is based on Android 14 and brings MagicLM on-device large language model with 7 billion parameters and is pre-installed on the Magic6 flagships.
Today, we learned that Honor silently began seeding the UI across the globe. Multiple users from all regions reported on the Honor subreddit that they are receiving MagicOS 8.0 on their Magic5 Pro devices.
Here’s the full log, shared by user badday0401:
The new features are split into 7 different categories. The new interface is smooth and seamless, while the Home Screen got better with Magic Capsule and Quick Services — something that has been missing from other MagicOS variants since Honor became an independent company.
Users with MagicOS 8 will be able to edit media more easily; there’s also a longer battery life with a long-awaited Ultra Power Saving mode, and have some security features like Parallel Space – a secure folder for apps, photos, and videos.
