How to find word count in Word
- Right-click on the bottom toolbar and select Word Count
- Start typing

Step 1: Right-click on the toolbar and select Word Count
Once you open Microsoft Word, make sure that the information you care most about, the word count, is shown in the toolbar. To do this, right-click on the toolbar at the bottom of the document and click Word Count so that it has a checkmark next to it.
Step 2: Start typing
Once those creative juices begin flowing and you start creating content, you’ll notice that Microsoft Word automatically begins counting page numbers and words. You’ll find both in the bottom toolbar of the document. You’ll see below that I have seven words so far.
