Swiss operator Sunrise Communications is using an “out-of-the-box” IoT back-end sales and management platform from Poland-based IT provider Comarch Telecommunications to underpin its IoT business. The Comarch bundle, also comprising IoT devices, will enable Sunrise to “store, sell, connect, monitor, and manage” its IoT estate, the companies said.
The Comarch software, bundled together in its IoT Connect Platform, is integrated into Sunrise’s overall OSS/BSS enterprise infrastructure. The first stage of the project has involved the full integration with the Sunrise IT environment and network, said Comarch, and was launched within four months of the pair signing the contact.
Comarch said Sunrise will be able to enter the “fast-growing IoT market rapidly and smoothly”, with a view to generate new revenues from new customer segments. The Comarch IoT Connect platform will provide SIM ordering, SIM/eSIM card management, service provisioning, pre-billing, and real-time monitoring and alarm functionalities. It will also introduce various data analytics functions, including collecting, aggregating, and visualizing data from IoT devices.
The system is working in the Sunrise cloud and is integrated with the company’s current CRM, billing, and data warehouse platforms. The implementation, which continues, will support IoT connectivity management, as well as related product management, sales, billing, and analytics. Comarch said Sunrise will be able to include partners and customers in the platform, and publish quotes and agreements automatically.
