New on Netflix: Editors’ recommendations
Love Is Blind season 2
The dating show is back and it’s moved to Chicago! Once again, a group of single men and women gather to date each other — sight unseen. They enter connected pods where they get to know each other, flirt and even fall in love. Only if they get engaged can they clap eyes on each other.
The first season was a pop culture sensation and yielded two successful couples (Lauren/Cameron, Amber/Barnett). Sure, Love Is Blind is a bit of a kooky experiment, but it sort of works! That’s more than can be said for that other dating franchise.
Inventing Anna
Shonda Rhimes feels ubiquitous; as a producer, her fingerprints are on Bridgerton, Station 19 and For the People. But she herself hasn’t created a show since 2012’s Scandal. That changes with Inventing Anna, a glitzy and hard-boiled drama based on an infamous true story first told in a New York magazine article by Jessica Pressler.
Anna Delvey (real name: Anna Sorokin) is a grifter who manages to infiltrate and scam New York City’s elite party scene. After getting caught, she recounts her tale to a reporter (Anna Clumsky) from prison. It’s the one new Netflix show we’re most excited about.
Our top selections are in bold, and we’ve got official synopses from Netflix to help explain its latest originals that you might not know about.
